Individual Counsellor Serving Coquitlam & Port Moody

Maryam Omidbeygi

Maryam creates a space where clients feel truly seen, met with warmth, without judgment, and given room to find their footing again, whatever brought them through the door. She works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and the disorientation of major life transitions, including the particular weight of immigration and rebuilding a life in a new country.

Where Maryam's experience runs especially deep is with clients facing cancer, chronic illness, or the demanding, often invisible work of caregiving. It's a kind of struggle that calls for more than general support, it calls for someone who understands the territory. With a PhD in Health Psychology and 13 years of clinical experience across Iran and Canada, including several years at the University of Tehran's Counselling Centre, Maryam brings real clinical depth to this work: evidence-based methods CBT, Schema Therapy, ACT, and mindfulness-based practice shaped around what each client is actually facing, not applied from a script.

As an Iranian-Canadian woman and native Farsi speaker, she offers therapy in both English and Farsi, with a cultural fluency that means clients don't have to explain themselves before the real work can start.
