About Me

I (she/her/hers) am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC, #---) with a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychiatric Nursing from Douglas College. I work with individuals and couples, and am passionate about supporting clients in building awareness, reducing emotional suffering, and engaging in more effective behaviour patterns. The focus of my practice is working with people who are recovering from heartbreak, have trouble setting boundaries, feel stuck in their relationships or simply wanting to calm anxious thoughts and live with more ease and joy. My approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and attachment-based. I also draw extensively on mindfulness, self-compassion, and the mind-body connection. I welcome all genders, sexual orientations and cultures.

Specialized training includes Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and 2, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I also have over 10 years of experience in various roles such a front-line nurse in acute, emergency and community settings, being an educator for two mental health portfolios in BC, and I have been in a leadership position for a private mental health program. I have seen much healing, recovering, and resiliency in all clients throughout my extensive years of work in the mental health field.

I am also a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. I believe my caring and kind demeanours are my strengths in counselling in addition to the skills, techniques, and tools that I have developed and learned over the years
